The Ledger Unplugged is the latest hardware wallet from Ledger. Unlike most other bitcoin hardware wallets which require a USB cable to connect to a device, the ledger unplugged distinguishes itself from other hardware wallets by the fact that it uses NFC technology in order to communicate with the other device. As a result, the only thing that is required is an NFC chip in the host device in order to get the Ledger Unplugged working.
Most latest generation Android phones have an NFC chip and if you own an Android phone chances are you have one as well. Furthermore, one can sync the Ledger wallet with their Mycelium wallet in order to create an impenetrable firewall to protect your hard earn funds. This cross compatibility combined with a $30 price tag makes the Ledger Unplugged an unbeatable wallet in terms of functionality / price ratio. While other hardware wallets may contain an LED screen with a fancy GUI the bare functionality remains the same, thus, if you are simply looking for a cheap solution to secure your coins via a physical medium look no further.
