Lamborghini Unveils The Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster

Last week Lamborghini announced the all new Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster, a new addition to the Lambo family which has many fans excited. With a 0-60 time of under 3 seconds, the SVJ 63 is a beast from another planet, let’s take a deeper look at this vehicle and the tech under the hood.

We are all familiar with the Lamborghini Aventador which has the iconic scissor doors. There are 4 types of Aventador models: the Aventador S, Aventador S Roadster, Avendator SVJ, and finally Aventador SVJ Roadster. The brand new SVJ 63 roadster is a faster version of the Aventador SVJ Roadster. The 63 means they are only making 63 of these models in celebration of Lamborghini’s birth year which is 1963.

The Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster packs a 770hp V-12 engine with a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds. A speed like that is surprising given that the SVJ 63 does have a hardtop convertible mechanism which makes the car heavier. Earlier in the month we reported on Lamborghini’s brand new Huracan EVO Spyder, which is also convertible which also has a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds. Nevertheless, compared to some other models which don’t have the convertible mechanism, the 2.9 second time is quite slow. For example, 2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has a 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds, and the 2018 Lamborghini Huracán Performante has a 0-60 time of 2.4 seconds, which is absolutely insane.

Looking at the price, the SVJ 63 Roadster comes in at over $550,000, that’s before taxes of course. The actual price is going to be somewhere around $700k when all is said and done. That’s quite a premium to pay for the limited edition car as others just as fast sell for less than half the price. Take for example the Huracan EVO Spyder which has the same 0-60 time but costs $250,000. While you don’t get the iconic scissor doors you get just as much power as with the SVJ 63. At the same time, $700,000 is still under $1 million and is a pretty fair price for a limited edition model of which only 63 will be made. Moreover, the SVJ 63s have already all sold out.

Overall the all new Aventador SVJ 63 is a beautiful car. For those die hard lamborghini fans, this is the perfect limited edition vehicle. The back end of the roadster is especially magnificent with the futuristic design which you can see from the picture above. This is by far my favorite Lamborghini model when it comes to looks.
