Interview with the owner of Bitmixer.io – a high volume bitcoin mixer

Bitmixer.io is one of the most popular bitcoin mixers. It has a large reserve of bitcoins which allows it to facilitate a high volume mixing service. Bitmixer has an outstanding reputation in the bitcoin community, the bitcointalk thread can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=415396.160

We were able to get in contact with the owner of Bimixer.io and asked him some questions:

What inspired you to create bitmixer.io?

Our own bitcoin experience. I like bitcoin a lot, but I don’t like the idea that any merchant or exchange may track all my previous and all my further transactions. So we need something to guard our privacy.

Where is bitmixer.io hosted (Country)?

Our servers are located in a country where US authorities can’t get access to the server without a local court order. Bitcoin is not considered as money here, so we can’t be a money-laundering service. We use encrypted disks. We delete all order data after 24 hours. We completely erase old bitcoin addresses from our wallet after coins are sent out. Even if the server is seized, they will find nothing.

Since you are a high volume mixer could you estimate how much volume you process each month?

According to our profit, last month we’ve processed about 65,000 btc.

How do you differentiate yourself from competitors such as payshield, blockchain’s share send, and the JoinMarket?

1. Instant mixing, even for large amounts.
We have a big reserve, so our clients are able to mix up to 2,000 btc at once without waiting for other customers.

2. Guarantees.
We solve the main problem of many mixers – the problem of trust. If mixer decided to steal your bitcoins, there would be no way to prove that it did. To solve this problem we made a public address 1BitmixerEiyyp3eTLaCpgBbhYERs48qza which is used for signing a special Letter of Guarantee. This Letter is generated for every transaction. It contains incoming/outgoing addresses and the timeframe when order will be completed. The customer downloads the Letter before sending us the coins. So he has a digitally signed proof of our obligations, the proof that incoming address has been truly generated by our server. Anyone can verify the digital signature using a pc or web-based bitcoin wallet.

3. Untracable transactions.
We use advanced features, like time delay, custom fee and multiply outgoing addresses. In combination those methods make transactions practically untraceable. Furthermore, we are using TOR to broadcast transactions to prevent ip-based block chain analysis.

Where do you see Bitmixer.io in 3-5 years?

The same place. Stable and reliable.

Do you have any plans to add any new features in the coming future?

Maybe we can create a web wallet with an integrated mixer.
