Coursera Course on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Begins Soon

Education on the topics of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are an absolute necessity at this stage. A new Coursera class touching upon both subjects can be quite powerful to bring new people into the ecosystem. Moreover, this is another validation of how popular Bitcoin has become, as there are now official classes people can follow online.

Coursera Sees The Need For Bitcoin Education

Education on the topic of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency can come in many different formats. Interested parties can even obtain an official university degree, such as the one offered by the University of Nicosia. Attending local Bitcoin Meetups is also a great way to learn more about how the system works and meet like-minded people.

But there are other options available as well, such as taking a Coursera course. It is good to see these global educational platforms pay attention to what is going on in the world. Even if that means putting together courses on a subject that may only have a “niche” appeal for the time being.

What makes the Coursera offering so appealing is how it is completely free of charge. Moreover, it is taught by a Princeton University assistant professor, who should be well-versed in the matters of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. During this course, some of the more pressing questions are answered, including how it works, and what role regulation may play in the future.

For the people interested in attending this course, all they need to do is have an Internet connection, and complete the signup form as soon as possible. The course will start in September, which is only a few weeks away. Moreover, there is no fixed schedule, as users can go through the lessons at their own pace, within a reasonable timeframe.

Do keep in mind it is the first time this course is organized by Coursera, and there will be room for future improvements. Feedback from the community is vital to making this project a success, so make sure to provide the Coursera team with any remarks you may have. If this project is successful, future courses may be added by different universities over time.
