Hong Kong-based DigiByte Holdings, developer of the DigiByte digital currency, has announced the addition of Counter Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) to its online gaming platform, DigiByte Gaming.
The DigiByte Gaming platform currently support free-to-play game League of Legends, where gamers can earn DigiByte tokens for playing online and participating in tournaments. The implementation of CS:GO on DigiByte Gaming is currently in the beta stage.
The press release said:
“Players are rewarded based upon their in game performance with DigiBytes sent directly to their DigiByte Gaming wallet.”
DigiByte recently received approval from Riot Games, the developers of League of Legends, to use the League of Legends advance API to bolster their gaming platform capabilities to handle a much larger user base.
The DigiByte Gaming service monetizes user interaction by allowing advertisers to target the gamer and millennial demographic. Advertisers sponsor the digital currency payouts that users of the platform receive through their gaming activities. DigiByte Gaming is the first service to successfully leverage blockchain technology in the free-to-play gaming industry, with over 10,000 current members.
According to the press release, DigiByte Gaming has plans to add additional titles and launch their own API, which will give outside developers the necessary tools to monetize their gaming products.
