Bitcoin payroll company Bitwage has unveiled their new iPhone App today. In his blog post, CEO of Bitwage Jonathan Chester, explained that the success of the company’s Android App paved the way for the release the new iPhone mobile application, “Given the success of our Android and Web applications, we decided that the iPhone platform would help us better service our users in the US and around the world.” writes Chester.
The iPhone app gives users the ability to quickly transfer funds between the Bitwage cloud and their Bitwage Debit Cards, with just a few taps.
The new App – which requires iOS 9.0 or later – can be download here.
Chester’s blog post also revealed Bitwage’s commitment to the new Request for Payment Address Standard (RPAS) collaboration with several other blockchain firms.
“In particular, we are announcing a project with the collaboration of Airbitz, Breadwallet, Coinomi, and Multibit that allows requesting an address from a mobile wallet.”
The new standard essentially allows interoperability between different blockchain mobile applications. The first one being between Airbitz and Bitwage, where users can link their Airbitz wallets to Bitwage. RPAS is based on BIP 21, but is much more suitable to mobile applications because it relies specifically on GET requests.
